Larangel Golf Course, located in the prestigious Quinta do Lago resort in the Algarve, Portugal, is one of the region’s finest golf courses. Originally an orange grove, Laranjal was transformed into a world-class championship course and officially opened in 2009. Designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, the course was created to complement the North and South Courses of Quinta do Lago while offering a unique and distinctive golfing challenge.

The course was carefully designed to preserve the natural beauty of the area, maintaining elements of the original orange groves while incorporating rolling fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and scenic water features. Unlike Quinta do Lago’s North and South Courses, which are set within pine forests, Laranjal offers a more open, undulating terrain with fewer trees but more water hazards and contoured greens.

The par-72, 6,480-meter course features five lakes, well-placed bunkers, and fast, elevated greens, making it a true test for golfers of all skill levels. The use of Penn A4 grass on the greens ensures smooth and fast putting surfaces, further enhancing the course's reputation for exceptional playing conditions.

Since its opening, Laranjal has received multiple awards, including being named “Portugal’s Best Golf Course” at the 2011 Portuguese Travel Awards. It is regularly ranked among the top golf courses in Portugal and Europe, praised for its challenging layout, excellent course maintenance, and stunning natural setting.
