Your Spanish Golf Tour Day by Day Itinerary
DAY 1. Arrive at Barcelona or Gerona Airport, Drive to the Empordà Golf Hotel & Spa for 4 nights.
DAY 2. Play Emporada Links a treeless, barren links style course running between dunes, strategically placed water hazards and with bunkers throughout the course.
DAY 3. Play Catalunya Stadium course, number 1 in Spain, not to be missed. Visit Gerona on route.
DAY 4. Play Emporada Forest, high in the Spanish rankings, it runs dramatically through a beautiful forest of umbrella pines. Long and tough from the back tees.
DAY 5. Play El Pratt Blue course on route to your hotel in Barcelona for three nights. Here precision is more important than length and deep fairway bunkers present a demanding challenge.
DAY 6. Day at leisure in Barcelona
DAY 7. Play El Prat Open course. Often termed big, bold and brash, the challenges are elevation changes, undulating greens and strategic bunkering.
DAY 8. Depart from Barcelona or Gerona Airport.

Golf Courses
Emporada Links resembles a British links golf course except for its turf and lakes as water hazards. It runs between dunes and has harsh rough and many bunkers. Beware of the Tramonta wind that can come from the Pyrenees. There is a mixture of long par fours, doglegs and strategic par threes. The 18th hole is a splendid double green shared with the Forest course. It is surrounded by a lake and has a 300-square meter green. 6828 yards (6304 meters) Par 71.
Emporada Forest winds through a majestic Mediterranean pine forest. It can protect golfers from the wind when it is strong. In these natural peaceful surroundings of tree-lined fairways there is little water but fast true greens. It is not as tight as the Links course but you need to play technically. The countryside is beautiful and the course is tough and long from the back tees.6662 yards (6165 meters) Par 72.
Catalunya Stadium is a spectacular course with a world top 100 ranking and highly rated in Europe. Beware that the surrounding beauty can distract from the difficulties that it imposes. Lakes come into play on seven holes. There are very many memorable holes. The tees are elevated, fairways can be tight, there are many changes in elevation and strategically placed bunkers. 7243 yards (6686 meters) Par 72.
El Prat Blue is a course where precision is more important than length. The fairways make the most of the natural slopes of the land and the bunkers are a severe challenge. Heavily bunkered greens call for precise approach shots. There are some exceptional par three holes. 7005 yards (6466 meters) par 72.
El Prat Open is very long from the Championship tees. There are some tough par fives and par threes. The fairways are generally wide but can plunge in elevation rapidly. The greens are large with many borrows, undulations and tricky run-off areas. Challenges accumulate with elevation changes, wind, fairway and greenside bunkers and challenging greens. 7224 yards (6672 meters) Par 72.
